Union Gas Donates $1500 to Atikokan Fire Rescue

ATIKOKAN – Atikokan Fire Rescue is committed to keeping the community safe by preventing or minimizing injury and loss due to fire or other emergencies. They strive for excellence by providing protection through education, prevention, suppression, and other limited lifesaving services. Union Gas is pleased to assist Atikokan Fire Rescue to achieve this level of success by supporting their Fire Safety Week initiatives through a $1,500 grant.

“At Union Gas, safety governs everything we do,” said Jamie McIntyre, technician utility services, Union Gas. “Because of this, we make it a priority to support our local volunteer firefighters, helping them to ensure the safety of their community.”

“Atikokan Fire Rescue is devoted to public education as it is our first line of defense. One area of focus is the need for residents to have reliable carbon monoxide detectors in their homes,” said Graham Warburton, fire chief, Atikokan Fire Rescue. “Through the generous support of Union Gas, this grant will assist our prevention efforts and protect the community members of Atikokan.”
