Burlington Fire Department conducted a high-angle rope rescue at Mount Nemo Conservation Area on Saturday, Nov. 2 — but would not release any details.
“To respect the privacy of the individual, we are unable to provide any details regarding the individual’s injuries or the circumstances leading up to the incident,” Platoon Chief Phil Barry stated in an email.
Barry said people are not billed for rescues, and the Burlington fire department conducts “less than 10 rope rescues a year.” He not say how much rope rescue responses cost.
According to a fire department press release, a total of nine vehicles and 28 personnel responded to the call, on Guelph Line, at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 2.
The press release states there was one civilian injury reported, and the rescue took two hours to complete.
