All occupants of a home on Sack Road in the Town of Petawawa evacuated safely when a fire broke out early Wednesday morning that destroyed the structure.
According to the Petawawa Fire Department, the fire was reported at approximately 1 a.m. on December 4. Sixteen firefighters and five fire apparatus were deployed to tackle the blaze, which had fully engulfed the attached garage and spread to the home. All occupants of the home safely evacuated without injuries.
Despite the efforts of firefighters, the house was declared a total loss. Fire crews remain on the scene as the investigation into the cause continues.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police, Garrison Petawawa Fire Department, and Hydro One.
