A 54-year-old man is dead following a fire that destroyed a home in Rodney, Ontario Provincial Police in Elgin County say.
It was shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday when police say emergency crews were called to the blaze in the 21000 block of Pioneer Line in Rodney, a community of about 1,000 located a roughly 45-minute drive southwest of London.
Ontario Provincial Police forensic officers, the office of Ontario’s chief coroner and the Ontario Fire Marshal were investigating, police said. Pioneer Line remained closed between Blacks Road and Furnival Road as of Saturday, police said.
