Gravenhurst Council approved single source procurement of protective firefighter clothing and radio equipment for the fire dept at the January 16th Council meeting.
The Fire Department was authorized to buy Protective Clothing from Safe Design Apparel Incorporated, amounting to $34,000 per year for the next years, and radio equipment at a cost of $109,296.
Fire Chief Jared Cayley emphasized the consistency provided by the suppliers in the protective clothing program, prioritizing firefighters' health and safety, as the key factor for the single-source purchase, and using Point-to-Point Communications will see a continuation of a successful history of a dependable communications sales and service to the Fire Dept.
