Evacuation order lifted in Renfrew following fire, gas leak

The evacuation order issued by police following a house fire on Mary Street in Renfrew that took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 30, was lifted Tuesday evening at 6:25 p.m. The order was issued following a gas leak, which  Enbridge Gas came to repair.

OPP officers, Renfrew County Paramedics and the Renfrew and Horton Fire Departments all responded to the house fire after a call was placed reporting the fire at 11:49 a.m. Paramedics transported two patients to hospital who suffered injuries in the fire.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, with assistance from the Renfrew Fire Department and the OPP.
