A blaze at an east-end home on Tuesday caused more than $200,000 in damages, London Fire Department officials say.

It was shortly after 11 a.m. on Tuesday when firefighters responded to a fire with “heavy black smoke” in the 100 block of Admiral Drive near Trafalgar Street, officials with the fire department said in a statement posted to social media.

No injuries had been reported and ventilation operations were underway, fire officials said at about 12:30 p.m.

Shortly before 1 p.m. officials said fire investigators were on the scene to determine the origin, cause and circumstances of the incident.

Damage was estimated at more than $200,000 and all smoke alarms in the home were sounding upon the fire department’s arrival, officials said.
