About Southwest Fire Academy
Offering a range of pre-service and professional firefighting courses, Southwest Fire Academy is one of the foremost fire training academies in Ontario.
Our primary focus is to provide easy to access, cost-effective firefighter and fire safety courses for fire departments and fire chiefs in Ontario wishing to train their firefighters to NFPA standards.
NFPA courses and training
As firefighters ourselves, we understand the logistical issues of converting from the Ontario Fire Standards to the NFPA standards, and the strain this can place on staffing for both professional and volunteer departments. Our NPFA firefighting courses are available both during the working week and over weekends, so your crew can attend outside of normal working hours if volunteers, and with minimal disruption to your crew shift rota.
These courses meets or exceeds the standards designed by NFPA (where applicable) and upon completion all students will receive a certificate from Southwest Fire Academy, a job performance package for their Fire Chief to add to their respected training file and the ability to take the OFMEM certification exam in the identified discipline.
