Provincial police in Leeds County were investigating a suspicious fire in Elgin on the weekend.
Rideau Lakes firefighters and members of the Ontario Provincial Police’s Leeds County detachment responded on Saturday, at about noon, to a fire at an uninhabited single-family home in the village of Elgin, OPP reporterd.
No injuries were reported.
“The OPP kept a heavy police presence at the scene on Saturday. The OPP Forensic Identification Unit and the Office of the Fire Marshal were assisting in the investigation. They asked that the public avoid the area,” police added.
