Police are investigating a fire in Essex.
Essex Fire and Rescue called in two stations to battle the blaze on farmland in the 2800-block of County Rd. 20 around 9:30pm Friday.
Nobody was hurt in the fire, but a barn was gutted and left smouldering Saturday morning.
Essex Fire Chief Rick Arnell says he can't discuss the nature of the investigation, but tells AM800 News the OPP and Ontario Fire Marshal's Office are taking the lead moving forward.
A damage estimate has yet to be released.
