A Wednesday morning house fire in Orillia has led to a road closure, say provincial police.

The Orillia Fire Department reported around 3:30 a.m. on May 14 that emergency crews were at the scene of a “fully involved” structure fire, leading to the closure of a stretch of George Street.

Firefighters as well as police and paramedics responded to the call.

Just after 5 a.m., the fire department said the blaze was “under control.”

According to Ontario Provincial Police in Orillia, George Street is closed between Westmount Drive South and Lakeview Avenue.

Neither the fire department or OPP said if any injuries were reported.
