Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault said fire crews arrived to find flames coming through the building’s roof toward the rear of the facility in the shop area.
He said the fire was brought under control by around 4 a.m.; however, hot spots continued to be put out after a partial wall collapse at the rear of the building.
No one was injured during this fire, which Boissonneault said is being treated as a suspected arson.
“Video surveillance cameras on site captured an individual breaking into the building prior to the fire,” the fire chief said.
He noted that the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal has been notified.
Damage from the fire has been estimated at more than $1 million.
Halton police are investigating this incident.
