No injuries have been reported after Hamilton firefighters responded to a multiple alarm house fire at 28 Cambridge Avenue around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Crews found heavy smoke coming from the one and a half storey home, and located a well-involved fire on the second floor.
In order to extinguish the flames, emergency crews needed to remove walls, portions of the ceiling and the roof in order to access concealed parts of the fire.
Firefighters say the process took over an hour.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but is believed to have started in a second-floor bedroom.
A spokesperson for the Hamilton Fire Department said no one was home at the time of the fire, and damages are estimated to be in the $500,000 range.
