Niagara West Fire and Emergency Services (NWFES) proudly held its annual ‘Firefighter Appreciation Night’ on October 25, 2024, to honour the exceptional dedication and service of the 2023 Provincial and Federal Service Award Recipients in the Town of Lincoln. This special event celebrated the remarkable commitment of our firefighters, who tirelessly protect and serve our community.
“The bravery and determination of our firefighters are a testament to the spirit of Lincoln,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “Their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our community is truly commendable, and we are grateful for their invaluable contributions.”
The following firefighters were recognized for their outstanding service during the event:
- John Bigger – 45 & 50 Years
- Doug Walton – 45 Years
- Ivan Good – 35 & 40 Years
- Dale Hatch – 35 Years
- Greg Hudson – 35 Years
- Brian Culp – 35 Years
- Brian Cook – 35 Years
- David House – 30 Years
- Remco deGraaf – 30 Years
- Trevor Doomernik – 20 Years
- Craig Schmidt – 20 Years
“These dedicated individuals have gone above and beyond in their service, consistently demonstrating resilience and a commitment to our community’s safety,” said the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer, Michael Kirkopoulos. “Their contributions are invaluable, and we thank them for their service.”
“Each of our 2023 Provincial and Federal Award Recipients represents the steadfast dedication of our firefighters,” added Niagara West Fire and Emergency Services Chief Hudson. “They are the true heroes of our community, and we are immensely proud of their service and commitment.”
