A man is in intensive care after he was rescued from a second-storey window during a house fire in Cambridge.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service said emergency responders were called to the house in the Main Street East and Franklin Boulevard area around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
The building sustained approximately half-a-million dollars in damage and a 69-year-old man was taken to hospital.
The Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) was called in to investigate.
A spokesperson with the Cambridge Fire Department said the man is in intensive care but he is in stable condition.
One firefighter was also minorly injured during the response.
In all, five fire stations responded to the call.
The OFM has wrapped up their investigation and the fire is not considered to be suspicious, but there is no word yet on what might have started the blaze.
