CTV News

Fire investigators have been requested, after London fire crews responded to a fire at an abandoned building in the southeast corner of the city Saturday afternoon. Crews were dispatched around 1:30 p.m.

The structure fire took place in the 1700 block of Wilton Grove Road, according to a post on X. Witnesses told CTV News the property is the former home of a dog boarding business.

Crews could be seen fighting the fire from the roof. Tankers were fetching water from a hydrant at nearby Cheese Factory Road.

The London Fire Department said the fire is now under control. Roof ventilation and suppression operations from the roof area are allowing for access to a hidden fire in the building.

Wilton Grove Road, east of Highbury Avenue, remains closed at the time of posting.
