UPDATE: The company tells Bayshore Broadcasting News they have left Kincardine and are offering refunds
Kincardine residents are being advised that a company called "Community Fire Protection" is offering fire safety training in the area, but are not endorsed by Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services.
The company is looking for businesses to sponsors the programs.
Chief Padfield says that this company and program are not necessarily scams, but recommends utilizing the services of your local firefighters.
He says that your local firefighters have a strong program in place in local schools, provided free of charge.
Padfield says that they do inspections, fire extinguisher training, and give advice to residents whenever they need it.
He says that they use a recognized program that follows Ontario fire safety guidelines
