An investigation is underway following an early morning fire Monday in Brantford.
Brantford Fire Deputy Chief Dwayne Armstrong said the call was received at 7:42 a.m., and firefighters reported smoke was visible upon their arrival at 4-F Buchanan Cr.
Armstrong said paramedics transported one person to hospital.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been contacted and will be conducting the investigation.
Later in the morning, several Brantford Police officers were still at the scene including the forensic identification unit.
Brantford Police told The Expositor at press time that officers were expected to remain there for several more hours, but no further information was currently available.
