Forest fire in Trent Lakes in northern Peterborough County

A 12-hectare forest fire in a remote area of Trent Lakes township in northern Peterborough County continued to rage on Wednesday.

The forest fire started on Tuesday around 4:28 p.m. as a result of a lightning strike, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

The blaze is near Udra Lake, about four kilometres west of Catchacoma and County Road 507.

As of Wednesday night, the forest fire remained out of control as crews continued to battle multiple forest fires across northern and central Ontario.
