Registration for Ontario Fire College Courses is subject to confirmation of pre-requisites through the OFM Training and Certification Portal. Your registration is not confirmed by the OAFC until verified by the OFC Registrar and returned.

If you do not meet the pre-requisite and have paid by credit card you will be charged an administrative fee upon refund for the transaction.

With the exception of not having the pre-requisites for a course, all FireCon registrations are non-refundable and all Ontario Fire College course registrations are also non-transferable.

Course Description:

This 3-day practical training session is designed to enhance the live fire training skills of firefighters by focusing on Interior NFPA 1001 Firefighter 1 and 2 sign-offs. In addition to supporting those that are working towards successful completion of the NFPA 1001 certification. Skills will include fire attack methods, fire attack above & below grade, and coordinating an interior attack. Additional skills such as forcible entry, search and rescue, ventilation etc. will also be worked in throughout scenarios.

The practical training is conducted using the Mobile Live Fire Training Unit (MLFTU), which offers a unique and realistic training environment. This hands-on experience will provide firefighters with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in controlled, yet challenging, live fire situations.

Pre-Requisites:

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Requirements:

4.3.1* Required Minimum Training as per NFPA 1403, Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions

Prior to being permitted to participate in live fire training evolutions, the student shall have received training to meet the minimum job performance requirements for Fire Fighter I in NFPA 1001 related to the following subjects:

  1. Safety
  2. Fire behavior
  3. Portable extinguishers
  4. Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  5. Ladders
  6. Fire hose, appliances, and streams
  7. Overhaul
  8. Water supply
  9. Ventilation
  10. Forcible entry
  11. Building construction

Current Fit Test and clean shaven
Previous Live Fire Training experience is strongly encouraged, but not required.

3 Day Package: $700.00 + HST
