Registration for Ontario Fire College Courses is subject to confirmation of pre-requisites through the OFM Training and Certification Portal. Your registration is not confirmed by the OAFC until verified by the OFC Registrar and returned. If you do not meet the pre-requisite and have paid by credit card you will be charged an administrative fee upon refund for the transaction. With the exception of not having the pre-requisites for a course, all FireCon registrations are non-refundable and all Ontario Fire College course registrations are also non-transferable. Note: For Exterior Attack Firefighter (Hybrid) PILOT and Incident Command (Hybrid) PILOT, only 2 firefighters per department can register for each course.
Course Description:
This course is designed to introduce both aspiring and current incident commanders to the incident management system and provide essential knowledge for effective operation as an incident commander. It emphasizes the development and application of skills needed to prioritize tasks, make informed decisions amid uncertainty, assess risks, evaluate resource requirements, anticipate hazards, communicate effectively, and ensure the physical and mental health and safety of responders.
Hybrid delivery
Students must complete the online coursework prior to the commencement of the in-class sessions. If the online learning portion and assignments are not completed and submitted on time, students will not be permitted to attend the in-class portion of the course.

Pre-Requisites:
OFC-1001 - Firefighter Level 2 (course completion)
OR
ASE-1001 - NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level II (Certification)
OR
ASE-EXT - Ontario Seal Exterior Firefighter (Certification)
OR
ASE-INT - Ontario Seal Interior Firefighter (Certification)
Requirements:
- Structural firefighting ensemble (Helmet, flash hood, boots, gloves, bunker pants and jacket).
- Copies of home department procedures and documentation:
- Communication procedures
- Radio report structures
- Tactical worksheets
- Decontamination, rehabilitation, contamination control procedures
- Mental health, peer support programs and procedures
- Exposure reporting system
4 Day Course Fee: $900.00 + HST
