The International Association of Arson Investigators of Ontario, Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association and North Bay Fire and Emergency Services are providing Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator Training and Advanced Fire Investigation Training.
For those wanting to write their Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator Certification Exam (CFEI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI); on July 12th, 2024, examinations will be available for applicants that have pre-registered with NAFI.
Advanced Fire Investigation Training Program Fee:
The program fee includes the 4-day program, a copy of NFPA 921 manual ($210 value), course material, lunches and IAAI swag.
Course Cost: $900.00

CFEI Examination Fee:
Paid directly to NAFI and is non-refundable $125.00 USD

The Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator Training portion of the program will focus on proper investigation techniques as outlined in the NFPA 921 Guide. Students will participate in classroom instruction followed by scene reviews of fire-damaged property. Topics covered are:

The Advanced Fire Investigation Training portion of the program will feature guest lecturers working in the private and public sectors. The presenters will provide students with information covering topics such as investigation of death caused by fire, post fire vehicle identification, trends in fire loss litigation, drug labs and other relevant topics for those investigating fire losses.
This program will provide 32 hours of ongoing professional education and training hours towards maintaining maintain your existing CFEI designation.
