How to utilize CANUTEC - September 23 - 11am to 12pm
Registration for this online learning series will open in April.
This awareness session will outline two key resources available to help First Responders who respond to incidents involving dangerous goods. This session will provide participants with an overview of CANUTEC - a national advisory service that assists emergency response personnel in handling dangerous goods emergencies on a 24/7 basis. Additionally, this session will provide an overview and detailed instruction on how to use the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG), a resource available for First Responders that helps identify unknown materials being transported and understand the potential hazards associated with identified material.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Describe CANUTEC’s mandate and outline how CANUTEC can assist First Responders who respond to incidents involving dangerous goods
- Make use of CANUTEC’s services and immediate advice during incidents involving dangerous goods
- Access the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) – hard copy or electronically when out in the field
- Navigate through the ERG to be able to apply it when out in the field with unknown materials
