It is with regret and deep sadness that Whitby Fire and Emergency Services (WFES) informs you that Captain Michael Hutchings passed away this morning after a long courageous and heroic battle with cancer. Mike started his career with WFES as a volunteer on May 22, 1980 and became a full time firefighter on March 16, 1987. He was promoted to Captain on January 7, 2002.
